Gail McGonigle is a retired Occupational therapist with 25 years experience with elderly patients, who provided care for her father in his home as he aged and could no longer live alone.
Her book "Dad's Home Alone" (www.DadsHomeAlone.com) looks at a subject that we will all face at one time...some of us are facing it now.
"Dad's Home Alone, Caring For Your Elderly Parent, is a guide and resource for everyone with elderly loved ones. It presents aging chronologically, from independence, to progressively declining function, to death, and the tasks that follow. It inspires confidence to intervene in these stages in order to maintain the health, safely, and sense of self-respect our loved ones deserve. It is based on my experiences with my witty, but stubborn Dad, who refused to leave home, when he could no longer live there alone. It’s humorous, sad, and supported by research and my experiences as an occupational therapist for disabled and elderly people."
An informative and must read for all of us. I thank Gail for allowing me to post this on my website.
